Traditional Winter coats for girls

Traditional Winter coats for girls

There’s something about the cut of a traditional style coat on a little girl that I just adore. So timeless and classic.

Those Nora Batty tights are too much 😆

I bought Poppy this sweet little coat from Zara when she was really tiny and it lasted for years but alas, she has now finally grown out of it so I’ve been on the hunt for a similar style that won’t cost the earth. To my surprise, there are some fantastic high street options although they rarely include wool which makes such a difference to the warmth of a coat.

These are the most traditional style ones that I’ve found so far:

Well isn’t this just a poppet of a Matalan coat? Those bows 💗

Available in 6 months – 5 years. Some of the sizes are currently out of stock but make sure you click the ’email me when in stock’ link to be notified when they re-stock.

Marie-Chantal for Marks and Spencers have produced some really fantastic clothing ranges and this coat is no exception. With 62% wool content it should be lovely and warm too.

Available in 3 months – 5 years.

Such a smart design from John Lewis. The velvet collar, buttons and pockets are just 👌🏼

Available in 2 – 12 years.

So many lovely details on this Monsoon pinky-camel coat although in my view it has rather a high price tag for no wool content.

Available in 3 – 13 years and comes in grey and burgundy too.

Such a simple design but so effective. This Mayoral red double breasted coat is available on Childrensalon and comes in pale pink and navy too.

Available in 12 – 36 months.

John Lewis always think about fabric quality as well as price. This grey wool mix coat with detachable fur collar is 44% wool and I love the texture and colour.

Available in 3 – 12 years and also available in a berry colour with black fur collar.

This beautiful Ancar wool coat on Childrensalon has an 80% wool content and unsurprisingly has a higher price tag to reflect this.

Available in 12 months – 12 years and a lighter blue and pale pink too.

The colour, the design, the fabric. I’m not sure this Trotters 100% wool classic girls coat can be beaten. Bit of an invest though!

Available in 2 – 11 years and a lighter blue too.

One that has really caught my eye is this wine/plum coloured coat by Monsoon although really quite expensive for an all man made fibre coat. The velvet bow and big buttons really have my heart all a flutter.

Available in 3 – 13 years.

Pepa and Co. do classic so so well and this burgundy coat is so lovely and unsurprisingly 100% wool. Described as a timeless classic, this will be in style for the next generation to take advantage of this amazing quality and style. It is however, another investment piece.

Available in 12 months – 6 years and also available in blue and grey.

This beautiful navy with velvet detail coat is 59% wool and with the current *30% off using N6D5 at checkout* code brings it down to comparable with the man made fibre coats making it actually good value! Love the central pleat at the back.

Available in 2 – 8 years.

Love the pleats on this good value swing Mothercare coat.

Available in 3 months – 5 years and red too.

How beautiful is this navy J by Jasper Conran coat?  Currently in the sale and selling out very fast and quite rightly so as it is cut beautifully.

This La Coqueta Arrieta girls coat is a late addition to the list but oh so worth it. Currently with 25% off in the Black Friday sale and with a wool content of 80% this beautiful coat is well worth a look.

Available in 2 – 10 years and also available in navy, red, herringbone blue and burgundy tweed.

Which is your favourite? Have you seen any options I’ve missed? Would love to hear if you have any recommendations 💕

Some lovely coats. I too love the traditional style. Im gutted that the one I got Olivia from Next has been recalled. I think I’m now going to get her the one from Matalan that you have featured.

      Thank you ❤️
That’s so frustrating about the Next coat. Hope you have better luck with the Matalan one. Will keep a look out on #WMKWW to see what you go for x

I love this traditional style too- they just look so lovely! Jessie got a ‘hand me down’ in this style and it’s one of my faves. That Matalan one with the bows is rather cute and a good price! #wmkww

I really love this style of coat and always think that it is a classic that will never go out of fashion. A great piece to have in your little one’s wardrobe, that’s for sure! Loving all you picks, especially the Plum one from Monsoon and the Mothercare one. Thanks so much for linking up with #WMKWW – hope you’re having a good week 🙂 x
