It seems like every event or occasion that I’ve been to over the last few weeks has been perfect to wear my faithful black pleated skirt for. Teamed with t-shirts, jumpers, blouses, trainers, boots, sandals. It is such a hard working staple in my wardrobe so I thought I’d see what other pleated skirts were on the high street to add to my collection.
Firstly, my mega versatile skirt was a bargain from TU clothing at Sainsbury’s however I’ve found a dead ringer that is equally as bargainous from H&M. It’s available in red too and a steal at £19.99.
So onwards to what other pleated beauties are available right now.
You’ve probably seen this H&M skirt all over Instagram recently but don’t let that put you off. I adore the stripe and can see it being a great Spring through to Summer piece. It’s also available in leopard and honestly I don’t know which I love more! They’re both £34.99.
Oh “hello” my pretty. This Hush colourblock pleated skirt is just a little ray of happiness. It should be at £89! I can however, see this being more of a daily runaround skirt than the H&M ones so probably worth the investment.
Another striped number but how pretty is it?! This Zara striped pleated skirt would be a total winner with a white t-shirt and trainers or strappy top and sandals in the Summer or as Zara have styled it, with a coloured jumper or knit and boots for the Spring. This one is £29.99.
This Warehouse skirt is a more formal option but it features two of my current favourite things – polka dots and pleats! My love for the matching top and skirt combo is massive. Pop a waist belt on and you have one incredible outfit. The skirt is £49.
I still haven’t got over the loss of my gold pleated skirt last year (a very traumatic first world tumble dryer error 😩) which I wore all Summer long. It was also a TU bargain and I haven’t found one like it since but this beautiful Reiss one comes pretty close. But at £150, gulp, it’s rather eye watering. But it is soooooo pretty ✨
The only photo I have of my beloved gold pleated skirt…
Can you tell the trauma is still fresh?? 😩😢🙊
I’m not usually a fan of asymmetry in skirts (too many memories of wearing them when I was 15 😆) but I adore this pretty pink skirt from M&S. I think it’s the split and slight wrap that makes it really work for me. Pastels are such a huge trend for Spring and I can totally see myself wearing this with a white t-shirt and trainers. This skirt is £35.
Both the rose pink colour and the scalloped double layer hem have got me all a flutter about this Finery skirt. I’d combine it with a crisp white shirt or soft silk blouse and pairing with my faithful Boden Lille suede heels for a Summer lunch or evening date. This skirt is £89.
Ok so this Rixo skirt is a slightly different pleat style and fit and is definitely an investment piece at £215 but oh my, isn’t it amazing?! It’s 100% beautiful silk.
Love F xx
